I’m going back to Port Angeles! After running North Olympic Discovery Half Marathon last year I have decided to run it again. This will be a great chance to take in the views and see where my fitness is after the Big Sur 21 Miler.

They offer free shuttles to the start from downtown Port Angeles and beautiful views during the last 3 miles are just gorgeous! This year the swag is a long sleeve half-zip tech shirt and a finisher’s medal. Check out my review from last year here!

I always get the question- “Amanda, have you ever run a marathon?” I can now say that I am training for my first ever marathon!

That’s right- I am running  Rock N Roll Seattle on June 10! Part of me is terrified and part of me is super excited. Running Rock N Roll Seattle will allow me to build off of my training from Big Sur 21 Miler in April. My biggest goal for this is to finish and try to enjoy the full 26.2 miles. I am running a half marathon the week before but it’s super flat and I can cruise it and enjoy the scenery.

Seattle from the Ferry!

The new course was announced this morning, it very different from last year . I am hoping my boyfriend and family can find me on the course during the last 10 miles since it’s an out and back on Aurora. I will say Aurora is not my favorite and the known

I am still undecided if I am going to run the 5k the day before to complete the Remix Challenge. Last year it was a lot of fun but since this is my first marathon I want to make sure everything goes well.

I am thrilled to announce I am running Rock N Roll San Francisco on April 8, 2018! I am very excited to run a race in San Francisco. And the best part – I am going with fellow BibRave Pro Jeannine! She’s never been for SF so we will see all of the sights and run all of the miles. And yes, I will do my best to re-create this photo with Jeannine.

This is going to be my last long run before Big Sur 21 Miler at the end of April. The best part is that the new RnR San Francisco course is a bit less hilly than in years past. We will still run over and back on the Golden Gate Bridge and run through the Presidio and along the Wharf.

I’m Running the Big Sur 21 Miler!

Big news- I am running the Big Sur 21 Mile in April! I found out Friday but haven’t had a chance to sit down and write up a blog all about it.

When I found out a few months ago that BibRave was partnering with Big Sur I was super excited and quickly put in for all of the races. What makes this even better is this is the first year Big Sur Events is offering a 21 mile course. The course will start after the Redwoods section and will pass by the beautiful views, the piano player, and many other iconic sights!

The distance is a bit daunting for me, I have never raced farther than 14 miles. I have a lot of work to do to get my base training back up. Spraining my ankle was not an ideal situation. I have two more half marathons in the next two months and I haven’t run more than 5 at a time.

But if you are interested in running Big Sur International Marathon as an individual the lottery for Loyalty, Locals & First-Timers are now open. If you want to run one of the shorter distances, registration opens on September 1st at 9am!

If you live in Seattle and need a long run buddy hit me up! I will need to run all of the distances and hill that I can get.

Gearing up for Seattle Craft Classic Half Marathon

After running two half marathons in June I’m a bit burned out. I didn’t PR like I thought I would so I’ve been a bit bummed out when it comes to running. Granted, I’ve played more ultimate frisbee in the last month than I have since college so it’s not like I haven’t been running. But I do have another race coming up- Seattle Craft Classic Half Marathon in Woodinville, WA on September 10th!

After seeing posts from races in Arizona and San Diego in years past I am very excited to run. This year participants get a sweet finisher’s medal, beer glass, a cool shirt, and a free Redhook beer at the finish party! They also have a 5K option too! I am hoping this flat-ish course is just what I need to get my legs back under me. I also re-joined the training program for fall which might help me get out of this slump.

If you want to join me use code BIBRAVEHALF for $10 off the half and BIBRAVE5k for $5 off the 5k.

Hope to see you there in September!
